In a press conference held at Cosmos Hospital on November 25, Dr Anurag Aggarwal, senior orthopedics and knee replacement surgeon, said that robotic knee replacement surgery is a boon for people suffering from knee problems. Robotic surgery is a new innovation which has brought a huge change in the field of orthopedics. This removes any human error. Robotic equipment disproves fears about any damage or mistake in functioning.
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि रोबोटिक प्रणाली को सर्जन की मदद करने के लिए डिजाइन किया गया है ताकि ना केवल रोगी की शारीरिक रचना (एनाटोमी) के आधार पर सर्जरी की योजना बनाई जा सके, बल्कि कंप्यूटर एवं रोबोट की सहायता से के संयोजन का उपयोग करके पूर्ण घुटना प्रत्यारोपण को पोजीशन भी किया जा सके।
He further said that the robotic system is designed to help the surgeon not only plan the surgery based on the patient’s anatomy but also complete the surgery using a combination of computer and robot assistance. The knee implant can also be positioned.
