राज्यपाल के अभिभाषण पर चर्चा के दौरान विधान परिषद में सपा नेता स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य ने राम मंदिर प्राण प्रतिष्ठा पर टिप्पणी की तो भाजपा के सदस्यों ने जमकर हंगामा किया। वे सदन की कार्यवाही रोककर राम मंदिर पर चर्चा कराने की मांग करने लगे।
स्वामी प्रसाद ने कहा कि भाजपा सरकार ऐसा प्रचारित कर रही है, जैसे राम पहले थे ही नहीं। जबकि सच्चाई यह है कि राम की हजारों साल से पूजा होती रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि प्राण प्रतिष्ठा कार्यक्रम भाजपा का था। इसकी वजह से लाखों लोगों को वहां जाने से रोक दिया गया। उन्होंने सवाल उठाया कि जब राम पहले से मौजूद हैं तो अरबों रुपया खर्च करने की क्या जरूरत थी?।

They stopped the proceedings of the House and started demanding a discussion on Ram Temple. Swami Prasad said that the BJP government is propagating as if Ram never existed. Whereas the truth is that Ram has been worshiped for thousands of years. He said that the Pran Pratishtha program was of BJP. Because of this lakhs of people were stopped from going there. He raised the question that when Ram is already present then what was the need to spend billions of rupees?
